Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Lyn - you've given me a big wake-up call!
I was diagnosed with seronegative arthritis three years ago, and have been reasonably well controlled but failed on MTX, sulphasalazine and leflunomide because of neutropenia. I was then started on Enbrel but I only managed two injections before coming out in a rash, so this is on hold whilst the rash is being investigated. For the whole of this time, I've been pretty much in denial about the whole thing - I just cannot believe that I have this horrible condition - me, who has been so fit and active ....
Trawling around the forum, I came across a link you'd given to work out the DAS score. I was shocked to come out with a score of highly active disease, 6.2.
I've been trying to reduce my inflammation levels with diet, and I do think it's helped to a certain extent, but I had hopes of being able to get off the drugs. Seeing that DAS score in black and white has made me realise that I really do need the drugs, and I need to stop kidding myself.
Hope this ramble makes sense, but THANK YOU!
Mylo x
